Every point is crucial – Kohler

Kohler, who guided the Red Devils to a record extending 11th title was speaking on Thursday, 15 February ahead of Friday’s group stage catch up fixture with CR Belouizdad of Algeria at the 5 July 1962 Olympic Stadium in Algiers. 

“Our team has players with great experience and who are good at dealing with pressure. I am confident in their ability to get a victory away from him, especially since the clubs in the group have become close in the rankings. At this stage, all points are crucial, and it is important for us not to drop any”, said Kohler. 

The TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Match Day 5 resumes next weekend, however due to Ahly’s FIFA Club World Cup schedule, their will play their Match Day 4 on Friday against the Belouizdad.

The defending champions are tied on 5 points with Tanzania’s Young Africans who have played a game extra, while hosts of the fixture, Belouizdad will be looking at toppling the defending champions, with just a point separating them from Ahly and Young Africans. 

Joining Kohler in Thursday’s press conference was defender, Rami Rabia who boldly said: 

“Our goal is to get the three points. We strive to win every match. We do not think about any other factors but the game itself. We have the experience of this competition. There is no such thing as overconfidence. The technical staff and players deal with the match very seriously to achieve their goals and make the fans happy.”
